STUDENT TASKS
- In Adobe Illustrator: choose either, a Video game, TV series, a Movie, or really anything that has a "front cover" type of design (you can do a book, but NOTE: that we will redesign a book cover later in the course).
- Look up the original cover/poster to use as inspiration for what to draw.
- Create a minimalist version with the least amount of elements possible that still communicates the tv series, video game, or movie, etc, clearly to your audience.
- Everything must be an original drawing of yours, no internet images. (You can use images to trace, preferably photographs)
- Look at the examples for reference and Google Search Minimalist Posters to explore more.
- Focus on attention to detail since everything is minimized down to a select few objects.
- Use the skills learned so far: pen/curvature, shapes, shape builder, pathfinder, live paint, text: warp, distort, etc
- Portrait or Landscape
- 8.5" x 11" inches
